Reunited

Adventure with Grandma and Grandpa

Isaac spent his second week of school vacation on an adventure with Grandma and Grandpa. It was his first time away from home without Mom and Dad and he did super.  G&G reported a smooth road trip with only minor hiccups here and there (e.g., when they forgot to set his owl alarm clock at the hotel, which was very distressing... because how will he know when to wake up, he asked upon waking?).  And he had a blast exploring Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Isaac was eager to show Mom around the garden when she came to pick him up as well as where he slept (in a kids bed in G&G's room), the breakfast routine, and the sights of St. Charles.

First stop:  Hershey World for a ride, treats, and lunch.

Showing off his bag full of goodies.
Approximately one minute later.
Second stop: Indian Caverns.
Isaac was very brave in the dark cave (even when the tour guide turned off the lights!)
Perhaps his favorite part of road tripping.

Visiting with horses in Shipshewana.

The corn is as tall as Isaac!
Another favorite road trip activity.
Don't step on the cracks!
Trip to farm near Grandma and Grandma's house.

Farm honey stick treat.

Exploring G&G's magical backyard garden.

Picking out a fish for the pond.

With Grandma at a local park with a beautiful butterfly house.

Isaac was kind enough to take everyone out for ice cream to thank them for a wonderful visit.
Playing cricket with Uncle Ry (Mom and Rachael-and-the-cousins-to-be cheer from the sidelines).

Homeward bound.
