Sweet Potatoes

We couldn't capture on camera Isaac's full-body shudder upon tasting sweet potatoes for the first time, but here are a couple (dozen) other reactions:

Warming to Daycare

The visits on days 4 and 5 were much better. Isaac knocked back four bottles and took good naps. He appears to be enjoying himself - playing with toys, chatting up other babies, smiling at his caregivers. And he made his first work of art (Picasso? Blue period?)!

Everyone is watching Isaac to see if he's going to take his first crawl.

So Close

He just started to get on his hands and knees and lurch forward this week. His form looks good. And his chubby, little knees have rug burn.  Won't be long before he's crawling!

Dad decided we shouldn't post the video where Isaac successfully flies forward and smacks his head on the chair (lest Social Services is trolling the blogosphere). It's a gem, though. Mom was horrified. Baby didn't even notice.

First Impressions of Daycare

The look says it all, doesn't it?

Monday started out promising. He liked the toys. He scooted forward for the very first time (yay!). He went down for a nice nap. Then Mom left and came back an hour later to find him in hysterics. Lots of tears shed again on Tuesday. Wednesday was only marginally better. Still not taking a bottle from any of the wonderful, loving caregivers. Better luck tomorrow!

Shamrock Shake

We cut down on the number of ingredients and calories by nixing the cherry and whipped cream.  So it was practically healthy.  READ AT YOUR OWN RISK: What's in a Shamrock Shake?

First Solid Food

Big day for Isaac.  First solid food (kind of a misnomer since it was just rice cereal mixed with breastmilk). First time in his big boy clip-on high chair.  First simultaneous Skype and Facetime date.  First St. Paddy's Day (dressed in green to avoid getting pinched).

Not sure what to think...
